Main contractor : Houthoff Zoo Design
The polar bears are getting a new home at the Rotterdam Zoo thanks to Dutch company Houthoff Zoo Design. HZD are specialists in all kinds of zoo environment projects and are well equipped for doing theming on a massive scale. I am here for a few weeks building the steel structures which are the base for rock and mud effect theming.
HZD have also done lots of other projects at the zoo. The Savanna House which is due to open this summer has some really beautiful tree and rockwork and the aquarium is probably the best I have ever seen.
